Reserve Support Specialist

We are seeking a Reserve Analyst to support our insurance and reinsurance lines written out of Bermuda.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform reserve analysis using internal and external data and intelligence
  • Collaborate closely with pricing, claims, finance, and data/analytics teams to ensure informed assumptions and methodologies for reserving
  • Develop and maintain relevant reserving methods, tools, and monitoring metrics to aid in reserve analysis and support the business
  • Assist in creating quarterly reports, presentations, and other materials for various audiences
  • Contribute to adherence to local regulatory requirements and actuarial best practices within reserving analysis
Requirements:
  • 1-4 years of actuarial experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, statistics, economics, or a related field; or the equivalent in work experience
  • Prior experience within the P&C insurance and/or reinsurance industry focused on reserve analysis preferred
  • Proficient in Excel and other reporting tools (such as PowerBI)
  • Experience in scripting or programming languages is a plus (VBA, R, Python, SQL)
  • Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate with business partners such as claims, finance, accounting, underwriting, IT, and data & analytics
  • Effective at prioritizing and managing various tasks in a dynamic work environment
