Accountant Role

A high-level accountant is required to manage the financial affairs of clients, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. The role involves preparing and lodging individual income tax returns, business activity statements, and other financial documents.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in Australian taxation and compliance. They should be proficient in using accounting software such as Xero and MYOB, and have excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and lodging individual income tax returns
  • Preparation and lodgement of business activity statements
  • Bookkeeping in client accounting files including Xero, MYOB and occasionally Quickbooks
  • Payroll processing in client accounting files including Xero and MYOB
  • Uploading invoice payments for clients
  • Processing quarterly superannuation payments
  • Preparation of monthly management reports (i.e., P&L and balance sheet) for clients from their accounting platforms
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior accountants

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in Australian accounting or taxation
  • Knowledge of Australian Taxation and Compliance preferred
  • General Accounting experience with solid background preferred
  • Must have experience in Individual, Partnership, Trust, and Company Compliance
