Sales Compensation Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sales Compensation Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the data, processes, and controls that ensure the accuracy of bonus and commission programs.

This role supports the monthly and quarterly commissions and bonus calculations for all business segments, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate and timely compensation.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the analyst also partners with sales, sales finance, accounting, and other business teams to provide reporting, analysis, and strategic insights that drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation and maintenance of the quarterly compensation workbook independently, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end company-wide compensation process, driving continuous improvements and efficiencies.
  • Prepare and submit monthly incentives and bonus calculation files, reviewing and maintaining relevant data needed for accurate calculations (e.g., comp plan terms, employee target incentives) in the compensation system.
  • Maintain sensitive and confidential information securely, in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Address complex commission and bonus inquiries, adjustments, and corrections promptly, ensuring positive employee experience and serving as an escalation point for the team.
Requirements:
  • Creates complex spreadsheets, formulas, pivot tables, and data visualizations in Microsoft Excel with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintains exceptional attention to detail, staying organized while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Engages and communicates confidently with senior leaders and C-Suite executives.
  • Clear and coherent in both written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different teams and departments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, engineering, mathematics, economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Sales Compensation, FP&A, or a finance-related role.
  • Must have a stable employment history.
