Senior SMSF Accountant Role

We are seeking a seasoned senior professional with extensive SMSF compliance and accounting expertise to lead our team of junior accountants.

This senior role requires a unique blend of technical SMSF knowledge, leadership skills, and ability to mentor and develop junior staff.

  • Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and compliance documentation.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and managing complex fund transactions, including pensions, contributions, and investment portfolios.
  • Liaising with auditors to finalise SMSF compliance reviews is also an essential part of this role.
  • In addition, the Senior SMSF Accountant will supervise and mentor intermediate accountants, providing guidance and support as needed.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in SMSF accounting within an Australian firm is required.
  • The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of SMSF legislation, SIS Act, and ATO requirements.
  • Experience with Class Super, BGL, or other SMSF administration software is highly desirable.
  • Strong review and supervisory skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are also crucial.
