Job Overview

Senior SMSF Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Senior SMSF Accountant.

The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Class Super, Excel, and be confident in their ability to manage SMSF accounting and compliance tasks.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage SMSF accounting and compliance tasks within Class Super.
  • Prepare workpapers, reconciliations, and reports for SMSF clients.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory documents.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, investment reconciliations, and member statements.
  • Ensure compliance with ATO and Superannuation Industry requirements.
  • Work closely with auditors, administrators, and financial planners as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for SMSF clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members, ensuring professional service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in SMSF workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience working with SMSFs in Australia.
  • Strong working knowledge of Class Super.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reconciliations, formulas, data analysis).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and accuracy.
