Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, with experience in management reporting and analysis. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

In this role, you will be working closely with our clients to ensure their financial records are accurate and up-to-date. You will also be responsible for preparing financial reports, managing cash flow, and performing other tasks as required.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. You will also need to be able to prioritize tasks effectively and manage your time well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely delivery of work within scope
  • Adhere to client deadlines and communicate with Manager if issues arise
  • Complete client processes accurately and promptly
  • Maintain BAS Agent compliance obligations
  • Provide feedback for Xero process improvements
  • Identify opportunities for client business growth
  • Set up Xero files per client requirements
  • Maximize HubDoc and DEXT efficiency
  • Use Karbon for all tasks
  • Pursue professional development to stay industry-relevant
  • Perform other project work as needed

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business Management or relevant experience
  • Experience in management reporting and analysis
  • At least three years Australian bookkeeping experience for small to medium businesses
  • Ability to manage multiple clients with shifting priorities
  • Xero and Xero payroll certification
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate to high level)
  • Preferred: experience with Karbon
  • Fast learner and adaptable
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong client service focus
  • Ability to work independently and manage your schedule
  • Effective planning and prioritization skills
  • Positive attitude
