Job Description

As a meticulous and tech-savvy Medical Transcriptionist, you will support our eye care specialists during patient consultations. Your role is to attend virtual or in-person meetings with ophthalmologists and optometrists to transcribe interactions.

You will input notes into electronic health record systems using Windows-based software while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend patient consultations to transcribe interactions with eye care specialists.
  • Input notes into electronic health records using Windows-based software.
  • Organize and manage large volumes of medical files securely on your personal PC.
  • Flag inconsistencies in visual exam documentation and diagnostic data.
  • Develop and maintain templates for eye exams, surgical consultations, and follow-ups.
  • Assist providers by streamlining administrative and documentation duties.
Requirements:
  • Owning a Windows-operated PC with high-capacity storage for handling large datasets and medical records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, OneNote) for documentation and file tracking.
  • Ability to navigate electronic health record platforms.
  • Secure internet connectivity for remote sessions if applicable.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Familiarity with ophthalmologic terminology.
  • Excellent typing speed and clinical attention to detail.
  • Prior experience as a scribe or medical transcriptionist is highly valued.
  • Ability to work discreetly and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
