Paralegal Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support attorneys with various tasks.

This is a remote position with a steady freelance work schedule, ideal for individuals who value flexibility and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collect, organize evidence and legal documents for review.
  2. Assist with filings and trial preparations, including drafting discovery documents in family law cases.
  3. Manage communications among parties, ensuring effective coordination of schedules and information sharing.
  4. Maintain organized systems for document management, leveraging proficiency with legal software.
  5. Review and produce documents, as well as assist with discovery.
  6. Help prepare for trials by assembling exhibits and legal filings.
  7. Attend virtual legal proceedings to support attorneys, if needed.
  8. Summarize depositions, transcripts, and exhibits, creating charts, graphs, and summaries for case presentation.
  9. File legal documents with courts and serve opposing counsel, utilizing expertise with real estate document preparation.
  10. Track billable hours for invoicing.
Requirements
  1. Hold paralegal certification or a degree in legal studies.
  2. Prior experience as a paralegal is required.
  3. A Windows OS device is necessary for this role.
  4. Familiarity with real estate document preparation and discovery in family law cases is essential.
  5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are must-haves.
  6. Organizational skills, particularly in managing legal documents and evidence, are crucial.
  7. Proficiency in legal document filing and serving is necessary.
  8. Strong coordination and scheduling skills are required.
  9. Knowledge of legal software and document management is essential.
  10. The ability to assist with trial preparations and attend virtual legal proceedings is necessary.
  11. Attention to detail when summarizing transcripts and preparing visual data is vital.
  12. Ability to track billable hours for invoicing is required.
