Software Release Engineer Position Overview

The Software Release Engineer plays a crucial role in the delivery of software releases to clients. This position is part of a newly established team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan and roll out various products in controlled environments.
  • Ensure end-to-end accountability for successful delivery of releases into live environments.
  • Validate release scope with project managers and delivery managers.
  • Complete technical validation of all releases and report on go-live readiness.
Key Tasks
  • Create and manage implementation plans, release meetings, and production cutovers.
  • Packaging, code merging, and log analysis of core and front platforms.
  • Collaborate with specialists from different areas for cross-domain activities.
  • Establish trustworthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including developers, project managers, test managers, and client managers.
  • Document and educate users on release, configuration, DevOps, and deployment management best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in release management and/or configuration management, preferably in the banking and financial services industry.
  • Experience with Unix, Oracle, SQL, Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus, Gerrit, Bitbucket, or other source code management tools.
  • Analytical skills and ability to automate administrative tasks.
  • Conflict resolution and stakeholder management in multicultural teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Open to work in shifts, including weekends, and extended support beyond regular hours for hot fix releases.
