Solution providers seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to spearhead efforts in acquiring institutional partners with colleges and universities in the USA and Canada. This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex education sector dynamics, close high-value deals, and lay the foundation for long-term partnerships that will support growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and secure partnerships with educational institutions in the USA and Canada.
- Conduct thorough market research to understand specific challenges and needs of the education sector.
- Develop tailored strategies for engaging with institutional clients, creating proposals, and presenting solution value propositions to academic decision-makers.
- Manage sales cycles from lead generation to deal closure.
- Presentation and pitching of platform capabilities to educational leaders, showcasing enhancements to student engagement and academic performance.
- Negotiation of terms, contract finalization, and ensuring smooth handoff to partnerships team for onboarding.
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with universities, ensuring deep understanding of evolving needs.
- Collaboration with internal teams to ensure successful platform implementation within partnered institutions.
- Expansion of existing partnerships, identifying opportunities for upselling or introducing new features and services.
- Identification of emerging trends in higher education and adaptation of strategies accordingly.
- Participation in educational conferences, webinars, and networking events to increase visibility and attract potential partners.
- Tracking, analysis, and reporting on key performance indicators related to business development efforts.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships, preferably within the education sector or EdTech.
- English language fluency (American Accent Preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to present complex solutions clearly and persuasively.
- Strong negotiation skills, with ability to structure win-win deals that benefit both parties.
- Ability to think strategically about growth opportunities, while also being hands-on in execution.
- Outstanding relationship-building skills, with ability to develop trust and rapport with senior academic stakeholders.
