About the role

The Manila Water Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead its accounts payable team. This position will be responsible for overseeing the organization's accounts payable process, ensuring efficient and accurate management of vendor payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies and processes to ensure timely and accurate payment processing and compliance with accounting, tax, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure updated policies and procedures related to disbursement processes are maintained.
  • Analyze and review ad-hoc policies and process flows as needed by the business or cost groups.
  • Escalate exception handling requests to the AP & Tax Operations Department Head.
  • Roll out Request For Payment (RFP) processing guidelines to AP Analysts and partner groups for alignment.
  • Review and monitor the team's throughput for process improvement initiatives.
  • C coordinate overall settlement timeline with Vendor Management, Treasury, and Tax Operations to ensure correct payment details and aligned timing.
  • Develop and maintain periodic payment plans according to settlement dates and company needs.
  • Ensure related process-flow documentation is updated and submitted for approval.
  • Cascade and communicate overall process flow to AP analysts and customer groups.
  • Work closely with AP and Tax Operations Team and Business Units to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of accounts payable processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts payable management, preferably in a large, complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Preferably with experience in SAP/S4 Hana.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage and develop a team of accounts payable professionals.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
