Job Overview:

We are seeking a Medical Records Specialist to join our team.

  • Prepare case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) assigned in the client portal.
  • Review and bookmark medical records, creating a synopsis to answer medical opinion questions as needed, based on the veteran's medical history.
  • Remotely assist medical providers during scheduled appointments by accessing, navigating, and preparing different apps in their computer prior to the appointment.
  • Conduct remote interviews with veterans via video or telephone conference platform.
  • Transcribe medical histories based on veterans' answers to DBQ questions.
  • Document physical examination findings in the appropriate section of DBQs.
  • Complete all sections of DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
  • Meet with medical providers to discuss cases and determine final diagnoses per DBQ for approval of medical opinions.
  • Transfer data from DBQ spreadsheets to the client portal.
  • Submit DBQs in the client portal.
About the Role:
  • This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively collaborate with medical providers and other team members.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), active PHRN license is required for this position.
