The Payroll Specialist is responsible for gathering and managing payroll inputs, processing payroll, coordinating reporting, supporting post-payroll tasks, and fostering effective collaboration between Payroll, Business Partners, and Finance. The role is instrumental in maintaining data integrity across key platforms such as Dayforce, Sequoia, and the company’s benefits systems.

Job Description

• Manage payroll inputs for global regions, including new hires, terminations, salary updates, bonuses, and leave data.

• Process payroll for Canada, UK, US, Australia, and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Ensure payroll timelines and pre-processing activities meet country-specific deadlines.

• Maintain accurate employee records in Dayforce and Sequoia software.

• Respond to payroll inquiries and provide timely resolutions.

• Prepare and share payroll reports with Finance, Business Partners, and other stakeholders.

• Support statutory and internal reporting requirements across all regions.

• Archive payroll reports for audits, reconciliations, and future reference.

• Process third-party payments to tax authorities, pension providers, and for garnishments.

• Reconcile payroll tax filings and remittances across jurisdictions.

• Manage employee benefits and retirement programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.

• Work with benefit providers to resolve issues and deliver services.

• Process benefit-related invoices.

• Support audits by providing payroll reports and answering queries.

• Handle ad hoc payroll-related projects and tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Applies understanding of payroll compliance requirements in at least one or more of: Canada, UK, US, Australia, New Zealand.

• Uses Microsoft Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data validation for payroll reconciliation and reporting.

• Maintains high attention to detail and demonstrates strong organizational skills.

• Manages sensitive data with discretion and confidentiality.

• Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English to interact with payroll vendors, finance, and support compensation & benefits.

Screening Criteria

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• At least three (3) years of hands-on payroll experience.

• Must have stable employment history
