FinOps Specialist, Payroll, Japan Payroll – Amazon

Location: Manila / Philippines-based description appears in listing; this role focuses on Japan Payroll with monthly processing and data management responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to tax-related inquiries raised from employees and stakeholders.
  • Perform and review various analyses and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Process and pay statutory deductions to statutory authorities on time.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and other inputs from Upstream.
  • Audit payroll registers shared by vendor and communicate observations.
  • Finalize payroll before agreed timelines and ensure employees are paid on time.
  • Improve processes to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Support and lead various projects; provide reporting to management on issues, projects and process updates.
  • Monitor deliverables and identify improvements within the area.
  • Produce timely responses to employee/stakeholder inquiries.
  • Contribute to ad hoc requests and team projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in Payroll, Finance, or Human Resources.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong experience with customer service.
  • Strong payroll experience in Japan payroll or other APAC countries.
  • Detail oriented; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
