Responsibilities
  • Process and verify payroll for multiple entities, including overtime, bonuses, deductions, and wage adjustments.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports (e.g., Davis-Bacon Act), ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Collect, validate, and maintain documentation for payroll reporting, including records, taxes, and benefits.
  • Serve as the primary contact for payroll-related inquiries and provide HR support for final paychecks and terminations.
  • Update employee data, process payroll batches, and ensure accuracy of payroll transactions.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate payroll discrepancies and compliance issues in a timely manner.
  • Run and analyze payroll reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) for audit, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Use advanced Excel functions (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) to analyze payroll costs and generate reports.
  • Maintain payroll records and documentation for auditing purposes.
  • Stay updated on payroll laws and tax regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Provide HR assistance on employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and open enrollment processes.
  • Support HR compliance initiatives, including maintaining accurate employee records and audit documentation.
  • Contribute to HR and payroll projects such as process improvements and employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must have experience in Hawaii Payroll.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, HR, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of HR experience, supported by compliance knowledge.
  • Experience with payroll software (PrismHR).
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), SHRM is a plus.
