The Tax Compliance and Payroll Specialist will be an integral part of our finance team, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely reporting, and strict adherence to local tax regulations. This position will support the transition of accounting processes in-house and provide expertise in compliance matters.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepares payroll, taxes, and government-related journal entries.
- Assist in providing payroll and taxes and government accounts against bank payouts.
Tax and Government Contributions Compliance :
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and requirements.
- Prepare and file timely tax returns and supplementary reportorial requirements.
- Liaise with tax authorities as necessary.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and advise management on their implications.
Reporting and Support :
- Assist in internal and external audits.
- Provide financial data and reports to support decision-making.
- Support the implementation and optimization of new accounting systems or tools.
- Participate in cross-functional projects requiring financial data and reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller or Senior management.
Payroll :
- Payroll Processing: Accurately prepare and process company payroll on a regular schedule, ensuring compliance with policies and government regulations.
- Employee Records Management: Maintain and update employee payroll records.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to labor laws, tax regulations, government-mandated benefits, and reporting requirements.
- Payroll Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll data with accounting records and prepare reports.
- Coordination with HR: Confirm cut-off, attendance prior to payroll calculation and resolve discrepancies prior to finalization.
- Tax and Government Contributions Filing and Reporting: Prepare and submit payroll-related tax filings and government contributions (eg. SSS, PhilHealth, PAG-IBIG), and year-end reports.
Skillset :
- Minimum 3-4 years of bookkeeping, payroll process and tax compliance experience.
- Expertise with local tax regulations and compliance.
- Experience in the preparation, filing and reporting of tax returns and other reportorial requirements.
- Proficient in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, others advantageous).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
