Job Purpose

The Distributor Manager (Visayas) is responsible for achieving the annual sales plan and business plan of Visayas by effectively managing, supporting, and developing Valvoline distributors in line with the company’s strategies and objectives.

How You Make An Impact (Job Accountabilities)
  • Implement in-country Distributor Network Strategy for the assigned area.
  • Ensure primary sales volume targets of distributors are achieved.
  • Assist distributors in developing an annual business plan aligned to company goals (including distributor sales & marketing strategies to grow secondary sales).
  • Collaborate with distributors (especially with Distributor Sales Manager) to implement sales and marketing strategies in key focus sectors in line with Valvoline in-country strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate distributor performance (Distributor Scorecard) and provide feedback, guidance, and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with distributors to identify key accounts and provide hands-on support to achieve growth targets.
  • Ensure distributors manage their sales pipeline with regular coaching and reviews.
  • Train/coach distributor personnel to improve staff competency and confidence via classroom training or joint coaching calls.
  • Assist distributors in identifying, appointing, and training new sub-distributors/dealers if needed.
  • Support and guide distributors in achieving secondary sales targets on identified focus segments (as per DBP).
  • Ensure segment programs (strategies) are implemented accordingly.
  • Provide leadership, management, and coaching to ensure the distributor sales team is equipped, motivated, and driven to achieve annual sales objectives.
  • Manage distributor marketing budgets and ensure spending aligns with strategies and priorities.
  • Oversee reimbursements to ensure timely processing.
  • Coordinate with Singapore Supply Chain & Customer Service to meet distributor orders and deliveries; submit timely product forecasts to ensure reliable supply.
  • Manage Territory TAR (Trade Accounts Receivable) within agreed levels.
  • Submit timely monthly sales reports and/or key accounts sales pipeline updates to the cluster manager.
  • Manage territory expenses within approved budgets.
  • Conduct special projects or related tasks as required by the cluster manager.
  • Conduct market research including competitor and customer requirement analysis as requested.
  • Establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with distributors and other team members.
What You Bring to the Role (Qualifications / Skills / Requirements)
  • Graduate of Engineering, Marketing, or Business.
  • Sales experience in selling lubricant products is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience managing a distributor.
  • Minimum 3 years managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in B2B/B2C sales.
  • Sales experience dealing with Auto & Motorcycle parts shops, installed workshops, trucking, and construction is preferred.
Working Conditions / Travel
  • Cebu-based, covering the entire Visayas and Palawan.
  • Work from home / field work (30/70).
  • Travel: approximately 2 times per month out of base.
