POSITION OVERVIEW

TheHospitality Services Directoris responsible for overseeing the operations and strategic direction of a network of dormitories within the metro. This position requires a blend of executive leadership, operational expertise, and knowledge of student housing management to ensure a safe, supportive, and conducive living environment for all residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership:

1. Develop and execute strategic plans to drive revenue growth, enhance resident satisfaction, and achieve business objectives.

2. Provide visionary leadership to management teams, setting clear goals and priorities aligned with organizational goals.

3. Identify market trends, competitive landscapes, and opportunities for expansion or diversification within the dormitory sector.

Operational Management:

1. Oversee day-to-day operations of dormitories, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments.

2. Ensure adherence to quality standards, brand guidelines, and regulatory requirements to maintain a high level of service excellence.

3. Implement efficient operational processes and procedures to optimize resource utilization and enhance productivity.

4. Recommendations for policy changes are reviewed and endorsed to the Chief Operations Officer for approval.

Financial Performance:

1. Area's annual sales revenue target is achieved.

2. Dormitory's monthly sales performance is monitored and corrective actions are implemented as necessary.

3. Dormitory's costs and expenses are monitored against set cost standards and budget and corrective actions are implemented as necessary.

4. Inventory system on stock handling, storage and standard stock levels are developed and communicated for implementation.

5. Purchase Requests are reviewed and approved within the position's scope of authority. Approval of Purchase Requests requiring higher-level approval is secured.

Guest Experience:

1. Foster a culture of guest-centric service excellence throughout the organization, emphasizing personalized service, attention to detail, and exceeding resident expectations.

2. Monitor feedback, reviews, and satisfaction scores to identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to enhance the overall experience.

3. Implement training and development programs to ensure staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service.

Stakeholder Relations:

1. Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including owners, investors, corporate partners, and local communities.

2. Serve as the primary point of contact for owners or investors, providing regular updates on performance, financial results, and strategic initiatives.

3. Collaborate with corporate leadership and cross-functional teams to align hotel operations with organizational goals and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles within the hospitality/dormitory industry, with a strong track record of driving operational excellence and financial performance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel/dormitory operations, including front office, housekeeping, revenue management, and guest services.
  • Strong business acumen, financial literacy, and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, develop budgets, and make strategic decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and building lasting relationships with residents/guests and stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive and results-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies in the hospitality sector.
