The Role

As a Finance Operations Head, you will be responsible for the over-all operation of the Finance Operations and is involved in the supervision and management of the general, credit cards and financial accounting activities of the bank and its subsidiaries, internal and external reporting functions and the maintenance of effective internal control while ensuring statutory compliance in all its accounting initiatives.

How you'll contribute

Governance, Control and Risk Management

  • 1. Supervise the day-to-day activities of Finance Operations to ensure internal controls are operating effectively and internal policies are being complied and properly implemented.
  • 2. Oversee Finance' statutory and management reporting to ensure that all reportorial requirements are met and submitted on time.
  • 3. Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payments to suppliers, employees, its directors and stockholders and remittances to various government agencies/ regulators (ex. PDIC assessments, BSP supervision fees etc.)
  • 4. Review implementing guidelines for new BSP/ SEC/PSE rulings/ circulars to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • 5. Oversee requirements of the internal and external audit (the BSP, PDIC, SGV) and review related management replies and recommendations to ensure the timely resolution of audit issues.
  • 6. Review tasks performed by each member of the group and their level of risk awareness to ensure proper observance of bank policies and procedures and simplify the existing processes. As may be applicable, conduct \or propose trainings to address knowledge requirement of Finance.
  • 7. Help develop, maintain and assess internal controls related to accounting and financial reporting systems.
  • 8. Lead to deliver R2R, A2R and I2C services in line with agreed SLAs and governance procedures.

Planning and Organizing

  • 1. Oversee maintenance of the EQ SOC, Oracle GL and other extract report parameters and perform planning and management of various automation projects of the group. Identify strategic options to add value using data and technology.
  • 2. Build talents across the group and support the continuous improvement initiative of the bank for the achievement of Finance' goals and objectives. Involve in various finance projects that require Finance expertise.
  • 3. Manage a high-performance team, providing strong leadership and customer service focus (both internally and externally).

Quality Orientation

  • 1. Oversee the maintenance of accurate and adequate accounting records; ensure financial records are reconciled
  • and kept up-to-date and contain sufficient detail to establish audit trail across Finance Operations.
  • 2. Oversee the accurate and timely reconciliation of the BSP and PFRS account balances, foreign exchange positions, credit cards transactions, bank assurance reporting with the aim of minimizing floats and reducing float days.
  • 3. Oversee the proper and timely posting of Finance transactions as well as those requested by HR payroll, RCOG and other units as applicable.

What we're looking for

  • 12 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's / College Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking
  • Certification / Professional License: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Competencies: Has significant, successful and proven experience in leading financial accounting department. Must have significant experience in designing and implementing process improvements and controls and has the ability to interpret complex financial information, translating that information into business planning, processes and risk management.
