Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced self-employed Mechanical Designer (AutoCAD) to join our team on a per-project (mission-based) contract basis. This is a remote position open to candidates located in the Philippines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical system design and at least 5 years of proven experience in AutoCAD design across all our fields of expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings for mechanical systems across various project types.
  • Collaborate remotely with our Canadian engineering team to ensure accurate, code-compliant, and efficient designs.
  • Deliver high-quality, precise mechanical design packages within agreed timelines.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and best practices to all projects.
  • Contribute to innovative design solutions across diverse project types, including:
  • Residential (single homes, townhome complexes)
  • Multi-Use Residential Buildings (condominiums, high-rises with retail/commercial)
  • Office Towers
  • Commercial (restaurants, warehouses, storage centers, retail units)
  • Retrofits (office fit-outs, commercial, healthcare, data centers)
  • Tailored/unique projects

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in AutoCAD mechanical design.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating proven experience in residential, commercial, multi-use residential buildings, office towers, and retrofit projects.
  • Solid understanding of ventilation, heating, cooling, and plumbing system layouts.
  • Ability to interpret engineering markups and translate them into accurate drawings.
  • Self-employed professional, able to manage projects independently.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work under remote supervision.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
