Financial Accountant (Onsite, AU Accounting Exp)

Job Description:

  • Provide financial costing and analytics in support of understanding and improving profitability.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the inventory records and remediation of discrepancies.
  • Analyse variances from the budget and report significant issues and proposed remedies to management.
  • Monitor and report on routine financial and operating metrics to the management team.
  • Manage the credit control process for the business.
  • Ensure customer credit checks and risk assessment are completed for all new customers and provide credit limit recommendation to the business.
  • Monitor current customer's credit limits and risk profile.
  • Work together with the Finance Business Partner to deliver annual budgets and forecasts supported by detailed assumption and scenario workings and commentary.
  • Report monthly financial performance with commentary to finance business partner and site management.
  • Ensure completion of balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements.
  • Manage cash flow and monitor budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Process proper reporting related to GST.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all suppliers and receivable accounts to ensure their accuracy.
  • Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist and/or manage outsourced functions such as audits, tax, and insurance.
  • Work closely with the Finance Business Partner for any other business requirements.
  • Other duties as directed by the Finance Business Partner Poultry, Financial Controller or CFO.

Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accountancy, or any related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant license.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with Australian Accounting.
  • Experience working within the Managed Funds Division, requiring:
  • High-level financial reporting
  • Compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
  • Ability to provide financial commentary for investor communications, distributions, and unit pricing guidance
  • Experience with inventory management and production cost accounting in an agribusiness environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Dynamics.
  • High-level Excel skills, including experience with complex forecasting models.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work at the strategic and operational levels and apply technical accounting knowledge.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt quickly under tight monthly reporting deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise, and organise work demands and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of safe work practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
