The Compliance Officer ensures our global fintech payments operations strictly adhere to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. This role focuses on managing and implementing compliance programs covering AML/KYC, Anti-Fraud, data privacy (GDPR), sanctions screening, and other relevant global financial regulations. The Compliance Officer will proactively collaborate with internal teams, regulators, and external partners to uphold robust compliance practices, protect company reputation, and facilitate compliant global growth.

1. Regulatory Compliance Management

• Oversee compliance with global regulations, including MAL, OPS, AML/KYC, Anti-Fraud, GDPR, PSD2, sanctions screening, and applicable local financial laws.
• Regularly update internal policies to align with evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards.

2. AML/KYC and Sanctions Screening

• Ensure effective implementation and ongoing improvement of AML/KYC processes, transaction monitoring, and sanctions compliance.
• Conduct customer and partner due diligence, enhanced due diligence (EDD), and periodic reviews as needed.

3. Data Privacy and Protection

• Manage compliance related to data privacy, including GDPR and other global privacy regulations.
• Advise internal teams on privacy compliance measures, policies, and procedures.

4. Compliance Audits and Reporting

• Lead internal compliance audits, prepare reports for senior management, and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
• Monitor compliance issues and incidents, and report promptly with recommended corrective actions.

5. Compliance Training and Awareness

• Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance training to employees across all levels, reinforcing a strong compliance culture.
• Create resources and guides to educate internal stakeholders on compliance obligations and best practices.

6. Regulatory Liaison and Communication

• Serve as primary contact with regulatory authorities, responding to inquiries, audits, and compliance examinations.
• Manage communications and disclosures required by regulatory entities.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance roles within fintech, payments processing, banking, or regulated financial services.
• Deep understanding of global payments industry regulations (AML/KYC, Anti-Fraud, GDPR, PSD2, MAL, OPS).
• Demonstrated experience managing regulatory relationships, audits, and inspections.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor compliance frameworks and internal controls.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable policies for internal teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Compliance, or a related field.
• Professional compliance certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional [CCEP], CAMS).
• Law degree or advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in Compliance, Finance, or related discipline.
• Experience with compliance across multiple jurisdictions and international payment networks.
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced fintech or high-growth technology environment.
• Familiarity with advanced compliance software and monitoring tools.
