
HR and Legal Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic HR & Legal Manager to lead and integrate the Human Resources and Legal functions of our growing organization. This role combines the responsibilities of a senior HR leader with those of a corporate legal advisor, ensuring full compliance with labor laws (including DOLE DO174), corporate governance, and business regulations. The ideal candidate will be a labor relations expert with strong legal acumen, capable of crafting strategic HR and legal programs that support business growth and operational integrity.
Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources Management
- Lead strategic HR initiatives including recruitment, training, employee engagement, and succession planning.
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs, including retirement and government-mandated benefits.
- Implement competency-based training and performance management systems.
- Develop and execute strategic HR plans aligned with business goals.
- Manage payroll processing and benefits administration ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure full compliance with DOLE Department Order No. 174, including contractor registration and service agreement standards.
- Handle labor relations, grievance procedures, and disciplinary actions with legal precision.
- Liaise with government agencies (DOLE, SEC, BIR, LGUs) for labor, corporate, and business compliance.
- Draft, review, and manage employment contracts, company policies, and legal documentation.
- Advise management on corporate legal matters including governance, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with the Revised Corporation Code, SEC reporting, and corporate governance standards.
- Support business transactions such as vendor agreements, partnerships, and expansions.
- Manage legal risks and coordinate with external counsel when necessary.
- Promote collaboration between HR and Legal functions to ensure cohesive policy implementation and risk management.
- Build internal capabilities and foster a culture of compliance, ethics, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field; Juris Doctor or Master's in HR/Business Law is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of combined HR and legal experience, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or large corporate organizations.
- Deep understanding of Philippine labor laws, DOLE DO174, and corporate legal frameworks.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage complex compliance and labor relations issues.
Strong network with government agencies and local government units.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.

Active membership in the Philippine Bar (for legal advisory functions)
