Logistics Assitant serves as a central support role focused on ensuring real-time visibility of freight schedules, entering accurate information in our system, monitoring performance, and identifying operational issues for resolution. This role is essential to the day-to-day health of our transportation operations and the satisfaction of both our drivers and our customers.

Core Responsibilities

1. Track and Trace

  • Continuously monitor load status using GPS and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to ensure on-time delivery and service accuracy.
  • Communicate real-time updates to internal teams, customer service, and external stakeholders.
  • Log key milestones including departures, arrivals, and delays; escalate exceptions as needed.
  • Clear handoff to next staff member so they can continue monitoring appointments and driver schedules so we are aware in advance of any potential problems making customer appointments.

2. Driver Monitoring

  • Assist in monitoring driver activity for compliance with schedules, safety protocols, and operational expectations.
  • Support driver scheduling, onboarding, check-ins, and general performance tracking.

3. Issue Logging and Corrective Action Intake

  • Collect and categorize incidents, complaints, and systemic challenges.
  • Prepare reports on recurring issues.
  • Participate in internal reviews to help identify root causes and propose corrective or preventive actions.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in dispatch, transportation operations, or logistics support preferred.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and fleet tracking systems (e.g., Samsara, McLeod) is a plus.
  • Excellent technical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond calmly under pressure.
