Data Privacy and Compliance Officer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate privacy risks across departments.

  • Develop and maintain data privacy policies and procedures.

  • Lead incident response efforts for data breaches and coordinate with IT/security teams.

  • Conduct regular training and awareness programs on data privacy and security.

  • Oversee internal and external audits related to data protection.

  • Manage third-party vendor compliance and conduct risk assessments.

  • Monitor and improve the organization's data governance framework.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align privacy practices with business goals.

  • Maintain documentation and task tracking using Jira and Confluence.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data privacy matters.

JOB SPECIFICIATIONS:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Law, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Preferred: Minimum of 1 year in data privacy, compliance, or related roles.

  • Experience in developing and implementing data protection policies.

  • Familiarity with the Data Privacy Act and regulatory compliance.

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of data governance frameworks and privacy risk assessments.

  • Knowledge in using Productivity tools such as Microsoft365, JIRA, Confluence

Other Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
