The
Learning and Development (L&D) Officer
is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing comprehensive learning strategies that support the growth and capability-building of employees across the organization. This role ensures that training programs are aligned with business goals, effectively address skill gaps, and promote continuous learning. The L&D Officer collaborates closely with department heads, employees, and external partners to deliver training initiatives that enhance performance, productivity, and career development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute learning and development strategies aligned with organizational objectives
  • Conduct training needs analyses to identify skill gaps and recommend appropriate training interventions
  • Design, develop, and update training materials, learning modules, and e-learning content
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and employee development activities (virtual and face-to-face)
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using assessments, feedback, and performance indicators
  • Support onboarding and orientation programs to ensure effective integration of new employees
  • Coordinate with external training providers, consultants, and vendors
  • Maintain training databases, attendance records, and documentation
  • Collaborate with managers to create and support Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Assist in the implementation of coaching, mentoring, and performance management systems
  • Prepare and submit regular L&D reports, metrics, and recommendations to management
  • Monitor trends, best practices, and advancements in learning and organizational development
  • Recommend enhancements to existing programs and propose new learning initiatives
  • Manage training budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation
  • Organize seminars, learning events, and knowledge-sharing activities across the organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a Learning and Development role
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing training and development programs
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Proficiency in learning technologies, LMS platforms, and basic editing tools for presentations
