Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Business Development Manager, under Victorias Green Energy Corporation (VGEC), a 100% owned subsidiary of Victorias Milling Company (VMC), one of the Philippines' most established and respected companies in the sugar industry. Building on VMC's long-standing heritage and commitment to sustainability, VGEC was created to lead the company's expansion into renewable and sustainable energy solutions. The company aims to contribute to the country's energy transition by developing and operating projects that harness clean energy sources such as biomass, solar, and other emerging technologies.. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client and partner relationships, and developing strategic plans to drive revenue growth.

The Business Development Manager for VGEC  will be involved in project development and investment in the renewable energy projects, including photovoltaic (solar) power, biomass and other forms of renewable energy. The assignments will include, but not limited to, permit process, land acquisition, SPC management and planning, commercial negotiations, contracting, procurement and financing. In a fast-growing industry, the Business Development Manager is expected to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and spontaneous leadership also.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills (professional business level);
  • 5-10 years of working experience in business, including finance, banking, investment, consulting and/or research firms;
  • Flexibility and versatility to adapt to constantly changing dynamics of the renewable energy industry and the firm;
  • Self-starter;
  • Teamwork skills;
  • Past working experience in power, infrastructure, or real estate business considered as advantage; and
  • Past experience in permitting and/or land acquisition is a plus
