The Role:
Our client is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper who will maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and support financial reporting.
Essential Functions:
- Record daily financial transactions including purchases, receipts, payments and journal entries
- Record and track company fixed assets, additions and disposals
- Reconcile inventory balances and work with operations to maintain accuracy
- Ensure purchases and receipts are categorized in correct GL accounts to support the budget
- Review expense reports for accuracy and compliance
- Track status of purchase orders, AP invoices and expense reports to ensure timely processing
- Full cycle accounts receivable: create and send accurate invoices to customers, post payments, monitor accounts for non-payments, send reminders on past due balances.
- Full cycle accounts payable: receive, verify and enter bills, schedule timely payment of bills, reconcile statements, file bills in online storage such as , Google, One Drive, prepare annual 1099s
- Verify contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions before settlement
- Perform reconciliations on monthly bank, merchant, digital wallets, peer-to-peer payment services and credit card accounts. Investigate outstanding transactions
- Record prepaid expenses, amortize transactions and maintain monthly reconciliation schedules
- Record accrued expenses, amortize transactions and maintain monthly reconciliation schedules
- Record routine journal entries
- Provide support for audits by external entities, prepare supporting schedules, gather information, and provide analysis as requested
- Ability to work independently without receiving a list of daily tasks
- Detail and customer focus oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to respond to emails about accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Participate in special projects and complete ad hoc tasks and research
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in the related field is preferred
- 3 + years of full charge bookkeeper/staff accountant experience including account reconciliation and work paper preparation experience
- Experience with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and NetSuite is a plus.
- Experience with is plus
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience in a multi-client environment
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
- Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
- Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
