Position Overview

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring trucking operations to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods. The role involves close communication with drivers, clients, and the operations team to address scheduling, routing, and service concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and assign drivers for daily trips based on delivery requirements and available resources.
  • Monitor the status of deliveries and provide real-time support to drivers.
  • Communicate with clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, and special instructions.
  • Maintain records of trips, driver logs, and delivery documentation.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure vehicles are in good condition before dispatch.
  • Handle urgent issues such as route changes, traffic concerns, or emergency breakdowns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and transportation laws.
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly reports on dispatch activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in dispatching, logistics, or transport operations (trucking industry experience an advantage).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with GPS and fleet management software is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
