WHAT IS YOUR ROLE

As a Property Accounting Associate, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate property-level accounting records and ensuring timely financial reporting. You will perform essential accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will also support audit and tax tracking processes, ensuring records are accurate, organized, and compliant.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Bank Transactions & Reconciliations

  • Download and review prior-day bank transactions, creating corresponding journal entries in Sage.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Download and save monthly bank statements in designated SharePoint folders.

Reporting

  • Generate and maintain the Owners Cash Report on a monthly basis.
  • Share completed reports with the portfolio team.
  • Update and monitor distributions received, maintaining the distribution board.

Audit & Compliance Support

  • Maintain and monitor the audit board on
  • Organize and track audit and tax invoices, comparing against engagement letters.
  • Provide support during the audit process by ensuring records are properly tracked and maintained.

Accounting Operations

  • Support general bookkeeping and accounting procedures, ensuring timely data entry and reconciliation.
  • Safekeep all financial documents and ensure organized filing of accounting records.
  • Execute clerical and administrative tasks related to accounting, as needed.
  • Provide additional support to management during audits or other busy times.

In addition, other clerical and administrative duties as required are to be expected.

YOU HAVE…

  • Bachelor's / College Degree in Accounting or any related field.
  • Preferably with 1 - 2 years of accounting experience.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of accounting software (experience with Sage and is a plus).
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles.
