JOB SUMMARY:

  • The Light and Sound Officer supports the Sound Engineer for the set up and running of the shows (theatre and concerts). He/she supports the Lighting Engineer for the set up, rigging, maintenance and refocusing of the lighting equipment inside the theatre. Capable of running the small areas of the theatre operations like Spotlight, Cameraman, Maintenance, Monitor Calibration, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate all equipment in the theatre or gaming areas and check equipment such as lights, instruments and sound system.
  • Check the stage area for cleanliness and all artists are on standby before the start of the sets/performance.
  • Ensure that sound system is without feedback or any interference and lighting system is fully functional.
  • Enforce discipline and proper behavioral traits to subordinates, maintaining a fair, consistent, and non-prejudicial approach.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on the performance of team members and conduct coaching/ counseling.
  • Identify training needs and recommend learning / training opportunities for employees to ensure their continuous professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia or other similar courses
  • At least one (1) year experience in handling audio and video technicalities and pre-post editing knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge in lighting works (i.e. understanding the lighting path from board to fixture, intelligent fixture programming, maintenance ability, trouble shooting ability, artistic ability)
  • Advanced knowledge in sound works (i.e. understanding the sound path from source to speaker, monitoring ability, maintenance ability, trouble shooting ability, artistic ability).
