Officer-in-Charge (OIC)

Job Summary

The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) at Tryst & Co. oversees daily bar operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, smooth service flow, and efficient team coordination. This role is responsible for supervising staff, maintaining operational standards, managing inventory, and supporting the bar's overall performance. The OIC acts as the key point person during their shift, making decisions that uphold the brand's service quality and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily bar operations, ensuring high-quality service and guest satisfaction.
  • Lead and support bartenders, servers, and barbacks during service.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels for non-drink and food items including but not limited to napkins, cleaning materials, toilet paper, etc and work with purchasing personnel for replenishment.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, POS operations, and end-of-shift reconciliations.
  • Manage reservations, seating flow, and guest inquiries with the help of our receptionist.
  • Address guest concerns and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety across the bar and service areas.
  • Ensure staff adherence to company policies, service standards, and DOH sanitation requirements.
  • Assist in training new employees and support ongoing staff development.
  • Coordinate with the Bar Manager/Owner on promotions, new cocktails, and special events.
  • Prepare shift reports detailing sales, issues, attendance, and operational updates.
  • Uphold the brand identity and ambiance of Tryst & Co. during all operating hours.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in bar or restaurant supervision, ideally in a craft cocktail or upscale bar setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of bar operations, mixology basics, and beverage service standards.
  • Experience with POS systems and cash-handling procedures.
  • Ability to multitask, make quick decisions, and manage high-pressure situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a guest-first mindset.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and basic cost control is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude, and reliable work ethic.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Fast-paced cocktail bar environment.
  • Primarily evening shifts, with weekends required.
  • Occasional involvement in special events, menu launches, or staff meetings.
