We Need A Strategic Financial Leader with Precision, Integrity, and a Deep Understanding of Investment Operations and the Streamline Portal

Band of Brothers Investment Group is seeking a seasoned Controller to provide assistance with our financial systems and reporting. As our company scales and diversifies its portfolio, we require a proactive finance leader who can ensure the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in financial oversight, investment fund accounting, regulatory reporting, cash flow management, and an understanding of the streamline portal. You must be comfortable managing a lean team, implementing financial controls, and advising executives on fiscal strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Oversight
• Manage all accounting operations including general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, budgeting, and tax planning
• Maintain and improve financial controls, procedures, and reporting structures
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Provide financial reporting for internal stakeholders and investment partners
• Monitor and forecast cash flow, financial risk, and capital requirements
• Strategic Finance Support
• Work closely with executive leadership to align financial goals with investment strategy
• Analyze ROI and profitability across various investment projects and divisions
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
• Audit & Compliance
• Coordinate and oversee annual audits and liaise with external auditors
• Ensure compliance with relevant SEC, IRS, or state-level investment fund regulations
• Manage relationships with financial institutions, legal advisors, and external accountants
• Team Management (if applicable)
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff or financial analysts
• Create a culture of accuracy, accountability, and proactive financial management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred)
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive financial experience, preferably within private equity, investment, or real estate sectors
• Deep understanding of investment accounting, cash flow modeling, and fund structures
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, compliance, and risk mitigation practices
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
• Strong background and experience with Multifamily Real Estate accounting software
• Experience with the Appfolio platform for Rental Properties
• Experience with Streamline Portal for Rental Properties
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or industry-specific systems)
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fund administration, investor reporting, or capital call processes
• Familiarity with investment strategy modeling, financial benchmarking, or real estate financials
• Prior experience scaling financial operations in a startup or expanding firm
