Job Description

As a Finance and Accounting Team Leader, you will oversee end-to-end financial operations, ensure NDIS compliance, guide strategic decision-making, and lead a high-performing finance team. Your role plays a critical part in sustaining financial health, supporting growth, and enabling impactful service delivery.

QUALIFICATION:

Essential

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance leadership or management role
• Strong knowledge of NDIS financial operations and compliance requirements
• Proven experience leading finance teams within disability, aged care, or not-for-profit sectors
• Advanced skills in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines

Desirable

• CPA or CA qualification (or currently working towards)
• Familiarity with the SCHADS Award and Australian employment entitlements
• Experience supporting finance operations across multi-site or international teams

YOUR DAILY TASKS:

Financial Operations & Oversight

• Manage daily accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and collections
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of NDIS claims, invoicing, and participant plan utilisation
• Coordinate with service delivery teams on billing, cancellations, and funding changes
• Maintain strong internal controls across payment processing, fund allocation, and payroll
• Support timely month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance

Strategic Financial Management

• Support the Financial Controller with cash flow monitoring, budgeting, and forecasting
• Analyse financial trends, NDIS pricing updates, and sector changes
• Contribute to cost modelling, scenario planning, and grant or funding applications
• Provide financial insights to support strategic and operational decision-making

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with ATO, Fair Work, SCHADS Award, and NDIS Pricing Arrangements
• Oversee preparation of BAS, superannuation, STP, payroll tax, and statutory reports
• Support internal and external audit processes to maintain audit readiness
• Ensure data accuracy across all financial reporting systems

System & Process Optimisation

• Improve finance efficiency through system enhancements and automation
• Maintain accuracy of financial systems including Care Vision, Pay Metrics, Xero, MYOB, and NDIS portals
• Ensure correct transaction coding aligned with programs, cost centres, and funding streams

Leadership & Cross-Regional Collaboration

• Lead and mentor finance team members across revenue, AR, AP, payroll, and collections
• Drive performance, accountability, and staff development
• Collaborate with leadership teams across NSW, QLD, VIC, the Philippines, Egypt, and other sites
• Promote unified financial practices while respecting regional operational requirements
