Remote Finance Executive (Singapore Based Client)

This person will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, maintaining compliance with Singapore regulations (IRAS, GST, SkillsFuture, audit), analyzing and improving processes, and automating routine tasks to boost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full accounting cycle, including month-end closing and maintaining full-set accounts
  • Handle accounts receivable (student fees, SkillsFuture grants, corporate invoicing) and accounts payable
  • Prepare monthly management reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses for senior finance leadership
  • Reconcile revenue data between systems (e.g., LMS/CRM) and the accounting platform to ensure consistency
  • Maintain and refine finance standard operating procedures (SOPs); implement a quarterly checklist to prevent issues (such as unissued credit notes for course withdrawals)
  • Identify and lead automation initiatives (e.g., Xero / QuickBooks integrations, spreadsheet macros) to streamline repetitive tasks
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support other departments (e.g., forecasting budgets for course launches)
  • Assist HR with payroll and CPF / SkillsFuture claim reconciliation as needed
  • Strengthen and enforce internal controls, especially around credit notes and revenue recognition

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or ACCA (or equivalent) qualification
  • 1–2 years of full-set accounting experience, preferably in a small-to-medium enterprise (SME) or a fast-growing business
  • Good understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST, IRAS rules, and SkillsFuture regulations
  • Proficient in cloud accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Passion for education and a desire to support professional development
