About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in the Australian Construction Industry. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects, ensuring tenders and proposals are delivered on time, competitive, and aligned with client requirements.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of proven estimating experience, excellent attention to detail, and strong knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and industry practices.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects.

· Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine project scope.

· Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities.

· Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.

· Prepare tender submissions and support the bid process.

· Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information.

· Monitor cost variances and provide recommendations for cost control.

· Assist with contract negotiations and post-tender reviews.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian construction codes, market rates, and industry standards.

Skills and Experience Required

· Minimum 2–3 years' experience as an Estimator in the Australian construction industry (commercial/industrial focus preferred).

· Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant codes/standards.

· Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., BuildXact, CostX, or similar).

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.

· Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Effective time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
