
Accounts Officer

The Accounting Officer will work closely with the financial management team and the MTC Head to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments and local regulatory updates.
The duties will include overseeing the company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable, receivable and daily financial entries and reconciliation by ensuring that all accounting process, procedures and standards support are implemented.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain an accurate financial report (i.e., trial balance, income statement, balance sheet) in PAL for monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reporting purposes.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly booked and accounted for based on the relevant accounting standards and policy
- Ensure that all accounting entries are supported by relevant documents and approvals. Gather all necessary supporting documents (e.g., invoices, emails, agreements, etc.) and attach them to the journal entries.
- Reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. Monitor tax deadlines and ensure timely remittance of tax payments to avoid penalties.
- Supports in preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal guidelines
- Reviewing and implementing financial policies
- Preparing forecasts and support in organizational budgeting and reporting
- Assist in handling internal & external audits for needed requirements and liaising with tax authorities.
- Processing invoice payments and tracking company expenses
- Provide relevant reconciliation reports to ensure the reliability of accounts balances.
- Processing accounts payable and receivable
- Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations
- Ensure documentation is easily accessible for internal or external audit purposes.
- Keeping up to date with the latest financial trends and regulations
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy/ or any Finance related fields
- With CPA certification is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting and Tax fillings
- Knowledgeable of Philippine tax regulations and compliance laws
- Work experience in a maritime or shipping company is an advantage.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
- Good analytical and conceptual thinking.
- High attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- MS Office proficiency; Advanced Excel skills
- Familiarity with Accounting softwares (SAP, Quickbooks, Xero, etc)
