Maritime Crewing Operations Supervisor

Sta. Rita Maritime Services Inc. is looking for an experienced Crewing Operations Supervisor to oversee the end-to-end management of our seafarer recruitment, deployment, and crew documentation processes. This key role ensures compliance with maritime regulations and supports our mission to provide safe, efficient, and well-managed crew operations for all managed vessels.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day crewing operations and ensure all manning activities comply with company standards and MARINA regulations.
• Facilitate both scheduled and surprise inspections of vessels to ensure crew compliance, readiness, and welfare.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with crew members, masters, and vessel management teams.
• Review and verify crew documents and certifications prior to embarkation.
• Oversee crew change schedules, travel arrangements, and contract renewals.
• Coordinate with Technical and Operations departments for vessel and crew-related concerns.
• Prepare periodic reports on crew line-ups, performance, and deployment activities.
• Provide guidance, supervision, and training to the crewing team.
• Coordinate with vessel masters and technical, admin and accounting department, for crew change schedules, rotation planning, and manning requirements.
• Oversee the verification, updating, and safekeeping of crew documents, licenses, and training certificates.
• Coordinate with MARINA, DOLE, and other regulatory agencies for compliance-related submissions.
• Monitor expiration dates of critical documents (COC/DCOC, COP, medical, etc.) and ensure timely renewal and compliance.
• Maintain an updated crew database and personnel records in both physical and digital formats for easy reference and audit.
• Conduct or facilitate initial briefings, interviews, and exit debriefings of seafarers prior to deployment and upon return.
• Liaise with clients, principals, and vessel representatives regarding manning needs, deployment schedules, and crew performance updates.
• Lead and mentor crewing assistants and support staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency in daily operations.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, and adherence to SRMSI's core values and service standards.
• Assist in the evaluation of crew performance through feedback from vessel masters and principals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies, HR, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in manning, crewing, or ship management operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of MARINA, POEA, and other maritime regulatory procedures.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and crew management systems.
• Must be willing to travel for vessel inspections when required.
