The Department Head for Corporate Salary Loans is responsible for the strategic planning, growth, and management of Equicom Savings Bank (EQB)'s corporate salary loan business. The role oversees sales acquisition, corporate partnership development, portfolio performance, and operational service quality while ensuring compliance with EQB lending policies and BSP regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Business Strategy & Portfolio Growth
  • Formulate and execute strategies that support EQB's consumer lending targets, with emphasis on Salary Loan program expansion.
  • Develop market plans for acquiring new accredited companies and deepening wallet share from existing partners.
  • Manage loan sales pipeline and ensure consistent monthly loan booking performance.
2. Corporate Partnership Development
  • Lead negotiations and accreditation of new corporate partners in coordination with Legal, Credit, and Operations.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with HR and Finance departments of partner companies.
  • Strengthen long-term relationships through regular engagement, business updates, and service-level monitoring.
3. Operations & Process Efficiency
  • Oversee end-to-end processing of salary loan applications, ensuring strict adherence to EQB's turnaround time (TAT) and service quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the Loan Operations Center, Credit Underwriting, and Disbursement teams to resolve bottlenecks.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience.
4. Credit Risk & Portfolio Quality
  • Ensure compliance with BSP regulations, internal credit policies, AMLA requirements, and EQB's risk framework.
  • Monitor delinquency and non-performing loan (NPL) levels; collaborate with Collections in handling high-risk accounts.
  • Recommend adjustments to credit parameters or risk controls based on market trends and performance analysis.
5. Leadership & People Management
  • Lead and mentor the Corporate Salary Loan team to achieve sales, quality, and operational metrics.
  • Conduct coaching, capability-building sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Promote a customer-centric, compliant, and performance-driven culture consistent with EQB values.
6. Reporting & Analytics
  • Prepare management reports on portfolio performance, sales metrics, risk indicators, and business trends.
  • Present updates and strategic recommendations to the Consumer Lending Head and senior management committees.
  • Utilize data analytics to guide decision-making and forecast business opportunities.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or related field.
  • MBA or related graduate studies is an advantage.
Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in consumer lending, ideally in salary loans or corporate partnership-driven loan products.
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity in a banking or financial services institution.

  • Solid understanding of lending operations, credit underwriting, and BSP regulatory compliance.
