Material Sourcing & Supplier Management

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will assist in sourcing materials, managing vendor relationships, processing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our construction projects by ensuring that all necessary materials are procured and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and identify reliable suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and services.
  • Negotiate prices, contracts, and terms with suppliers to obtain the most favorable deals for the project.
  • Maintain updated records of suppliers, including contact and bank information.

Purchase Order Management

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders based on material requisitions from project teams.
  • Enter purchase order details (e.g., vendors, quantities, prices) into the internal database.
  • Monitor pending purchase orders and ensure company expectations on purchases are on track.

Inventory & Delivery Coordination

  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to the construction site.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate receipt and storage of materials.
  • Review the quality of purchased materials and products upon delivery.

Administrative & Reporting Support

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Prepare and submit reports on purchases and expenses.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate with project engineers and supervisors to understand material requirements.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotations, confirm orders, and follow up on deliveries.
  • Resolve any issues related to order discrepancies, delays, or quality concerns.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.

Experience: At least 1 year of experience in purchasing or administrative tasks, preferably in the construction industry.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php10, Php15,000.00 per month
