Reports To: Purchasing Supervisor
Job Summary: The Purchasing Staff is responsible for managing the procurement of food supplies, packaging materials, and other essential items required for the daily operations of the fast-food restaurant. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective purchasing of goods while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a basic understanding of supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order food ingredients, beverages, packaging materials, and restaurant supplies as per the needs of the establishment.
- Source new suppliers and evaluate current suppliers for quality, price, and delivery efficiency.
- Ensure stock levels are maintained and adjust ordering schedules based on consumption patterns and sales forecasts.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records, tracking stock levels and ensuring that stock is replenished timely.
- Work closely with the kitchen and operations staff to understand inventory needs and manage shortages.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and coordinate with vendors to ensure product availability.
Supplier Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current suppliers and identify opportunities for cost savings or product improvement.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Communicate any product quality or supply issues and resolve them promptly.
Budget & Cost Control:
- Monitor and control purchasing expenses to stay within budget limits.
- Analyze purchase trends and suggest cost-effective alternatives or practices for sourcing materials.
Compliance & Quality Control:
- Ensure all food and supply items meet the required quality standards and comply with local health and safety regulations.
- Handle paperwork for inventory, product returns, and damaged goods.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate purchase order records and files.
- Coordinate with accounting or finance teams for proper invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Report on supply status, costs, and purchasing performance to management.
Qualifications:
College Graduate
Experience: Previous experience in purchasing, inventory management, or food service operations is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with suppliers.
- Knowledge of inventory systems and procurement software.
- Basic understanding of food safety standards and health regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Interested Candidates must be willing to move to BGC within 2-3 months.
