RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Operates a multiple-position telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing and inter-office calls and performs miscellaneous hospital communications and clerical duties

  2. Answers to callers queries in accordance to the hospital policy; takes messages for staff members; pages authorized personnel over the intercom system.

  3. Maintains an orderly list of all the departments, their local numbers, names of resident doctors to transfer calls and relay messages effectively and quickly.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

A. Minimum Education/Experience Required

  • Must be graduate of 4-year business course or its equivalent

B. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Verbal ability is required to converse effectively and fluently and to understand orders or instructions under an emergency situation.

  • Clerical perception is required to accurately and quickly recognize and memorize names and numbers in the hospital's telephone directory to avoid mistakes in transferring calls, paging persons and relaying messages.
