Position Overview

The Finance Manager will oversee the company's general accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing financial insights to aid strategic decision-making.

The Finance Manager will work closely with the Finance Director to drive financial discipline, process improvements, and operational efficiency across Fagokho Corporation and its affiliated brands.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Supervise all general accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end closing activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements in accordance with local accounting standards and company policies.
  • Review and analyze financial reports, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Oversee preparation of management reports, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure timely filing of statutory reports and compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the Finance Director in annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor actual financial performance against targets and provide actionable insights.

Process Improvement & Leadership

  • Identify and implement process improvements in accounting and reporting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between finance and operational teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in general accounting or financial management, preferably in a corporate or multi-brand environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and local tax regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
