The Inventory Controller – Food and Beverage is responsible for monitoring stock levels, ensuring accurate inventory records, and coordinating deliveries. The role works closely with kitchen staff to support daily operations while minimizing waste and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients, packaging, and supplies needed for F&B operations.
  • Ensure accuracy between physical counts and system records.
  • Track expiry dates and batch numbers, especially for perishable items.
  • Check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and invoices.
  • Inspect the quality and quantity of received goods.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage upon receipt.
  • Enforce FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to minimize spoilage.
  • Organize stockrooms and cold storage for efficient access and turnover.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
  • Investigate and report any variances or shrinkage.
  • Prepare reports on stock status, usage trends, and wastage.
  • Ensure storage conditions comply with health and safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all stock areas.
  • Implement and enforce proper storage and labeling practices.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to forecast demand.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in inventory control, preferably in the food and beverage or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of F&B operations and inventory control procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software (e.g., FMC, Material Control, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles relevant to F&B operations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with kitchen and service teams.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Certification in Inventory Control, Hospitality Finance, or a related area.
  • Previous experience in hotel, resort, or large-scale restaurant operations.
