Role Summary

The Inventory and Planning Manager balances stock levels to meet demand without overstocking, using forecasting, data analysis, and collaboration with sales/operations to optimize supply chains, manage purchase orders, and improve efficiency through systems and process improvements, ensuring product availability and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demand Forecasting: Analyze historical data, market trends, and promotions to predict future needs.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, set safety stock, reorder points, and manage physical inventory.
  • Supplier Management: Coordinate with procurement/suppliers for timely deliveries and manage purchase orders.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Operations to align plans and strategies.
  • Process Improvement: Implement and improve inventory management systems and processes.
  • Reporting: Communicate inventory status, performance, and issues to management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Proven background in supply chain, logistics, customer service, or operations, with 5+ years in relevant roles.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing, customer-oriented teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (like SAP) and MS Office (Excel).
  • Soft Skills: Adaptability, strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
