Major Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Manage the assigned vessel/s in relation to safety of the vessel/crew/cargo, sea worthiness, operation, statutory requirements, technical operations, quality maintenance and cost efficiency;
  • Supervise daily operational activities of all assigned vessels, assist/monitor colleagues during their periods away from the office.
  • To understand charter party of assigned vessel/s.
  • Prepare financial year budget together with vessel's SMT and implementation;
  • Evaluate job orders, review and approve purchase of spare parts, stores and other vessel requirements based on repair requirements and budget;
  • Conduct monthly follow-up of the Statement of Account and reports deviations accordingly to the Fleet Manager and ship owner;
  • Conduct technical inspections at least twice a year for each assigned vessel/s;
  • Monitor all planned maintenance system activities to ensure that PMS is updated at all times;
  • Monitor and update of Class status, validity of certificate of assigned vessel/s.
  • Make a proper dry dock specification, cost comparison to submit owner for their approval.
  • Supervise dry-docking to ensure repairs are done in the most efficient and effective manner in accordance with specifications;
  • Implements required documentations, inspections, repairs and standard procedures in case of vessel damage, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements;
  • Notify owner / underwriter as regards damage of vessel for the immediate arrangement of vessel inspection by insurance surveyor and owner's adjuster.
  • Conduct orientation to vessel officers on procedures and documentary requirements to be accomplished in case of vessel damage to facilitate insurance claims or P & I crew claims;
  • Submits report on but not limited to budget analysis, dry docking, engine performance, lube oil/fuel analysis, water treatment analysis, timely and accurately;
  • Conducts performance evaluation of top four officers upon sign off;
  • Evaluation and confirmation of dry-docking contract with the chosen shipyard in liaison with Fleet Manager and Head of Ship Management;
  • Disseminates to all concerned updated, complete, accurate and relevant information.
