Software Quality Assurance

Some of the key responsibilities of your role will be:

• Development of automation solutions for products, programs and flows. This includes full framework development and improvement for a range of technology solutions.
• Maintain automation suites, ensure constant running and feedback from checks and consistent reporting mechanisms
• Guide squads and projects and programs on automation first principals, testability and automatability in solutions.
• Input into the design and development of various quality lenses applied to your products with a view to inject quality practices from inception through to delivery
• Be a Quality advocate within your squad, applying pragmatic solutions to non-technical problems, and applying logical scalable engineering solutions to technical challenges.
• Support and improve build test processes, environments, and scripts to ensure highest quality code drops.
• Work closely with all members of your squad to ensure scope, coverage and content for changes is understood clearly, and the mechanisms for confirming changes is agreed and practical.
• Active involvement in Quality Engineering chapters and guilds.
• Always be on the lookout to improve the way we work, and speak up with suggestions for a better way, with the aim of exceeding our customers' expectations.
• Be familiar with policies and procedures, as well as completing any associated training, as communicated or made available on the intranet and our learning systems.

To be considered for this role, you must have

• Excellent practical expertise of software automated testing within web technologies. Hands on experience with Cypress for API a massive plus.
• Excellent understanding of APIs/Microservices. Hands on experience using Postman and Newman or a similar API framework (i.e. Karate etc.).
• Advanced coding skills in multiple languages (JavaScript, Python etc.)
• Good knowledge of Scrum. Demonstrable experience of working in Agile Scrum teams.
• Clear knowledge and experience of CI/CD concepts. Proficient with Git, working knowledge in CI tooling such as Jenkins / Bamboo / Team City.
• Superb communication skills.
• Strong relationship building skills and an ability to easily develop new relationships with both suppliers and colleagues.

Not a requirement, but would be an edge:

• Breadth of Quality Engineering capabilities in addition to Automation techniques (i.e. any Performance, Accessibility or Security exposure would be excellent)
• Knowledge and experience with AWS
• Background in Telecommunications systems
• Nice to have – Novus TPM stack (TPG, iiNet, Internode) and FLK (Felix, Lebara, Kogan) exposure.

The Software Quality Assurance (Automation Tester) position is responsible for developing, executing and reporting on testing strategies to provide efficient and timely testing of new products and features prior to deployment to ensure our customers receive optimal performance and quality. Working closely with developers and programmers, this position contributes to the coordination and maintenance of test lab facilities.

This position requires the incumbent to work effectively with design engineers and project managers in order to communicate faults in a diplomatic manner.

To be considered for this position, candidates should have.

• A bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science / Engineering or recognized equivalent
• At least 2 years' relevant industry experience in Software Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering (Tester)
• At least 2 years' experience in Automation using an automation tool/ framework i.e. Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber, will be an edge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, subject matter experts and developers.
• Excellent time management, facilitation, accuracy and attention to detail;

Demonstrate sound experience in or understanding of:

• Software testing methodology.
• Unix Operating Systems such as Linux.
• An understanding of internet usage and practices.
• Basic understanding of software development practices.
• Basic understanding of various API concepts such as REST API and SOAP API.
• Scripting skills are highly favored.
• Exposure to Windows based environments an advantage.
• A basic understanding of Mac OSX environment.
• Experience in using Smart Phones and Tablets.
• At least 2 years of Telco experience in Automation
• Hands on Cypress Javascript framework
