Overview

Lalaguna Villas is an award-winning luxury dive resort and spa in Puerto Galera, recognized for exceptional hospitality, premium accommodation, and world-class diving facilities.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Head/Facilities Manager with a Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering background to lead our maintenance and engineering operations, including construction project management for resort upgrades and new developments.

This leadership role ensures that all resort facilities, systems, and infrastructure are maintained and enhanced to the highest operational and safety standards. The position offers career growth potential, with the opportunity to progress to a Director-level position (Operations Director) for the right candidate who demonstrates strategic capability and leadership excellence. However, initially this is a hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all maintenance operations, services, and processes supporting resort operations.
• Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance programs and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with management for the upkeep of buildings, villas, infrastructure, utilities, and resort grounds.
• Plan, schedule, and supervise all repair, renovation, and refurbishment activities.
• Manage and deliver construction and development projects, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion, supervising external contractors to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager for sourcing and procurement of tools, materials, and technical supplies.
• Conduct environmental and safety audits to ensure compliance with DENR standards.
• Prepare and submit all required environmental and regulatory reports.
• Lead and mentor the maintenance team, including staff training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Maintain strict quality control and efficiency across all maintenance and facility operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Head, Facilities Manager, or Chief Engineer in a hotel, resort, or property management setting.
• Demonstrated experience in construction project management and renovation supervision.
• Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Certificate issued by DENR is an advantage but not required.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and water management
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Organizational and analytical capability for planning, budgeting, and reporting.
• Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
