Key Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.

  3. Performing routine maintenance checks on machinery to thwart potential failures and guarantee smooth operations.

  4. Interpreting technical manuals and drawings to execute repairs and enhancements.

  5. Collaborating with other mechanics and management to maintain machinery schedules and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

  6. Testing repaired machinery to verify restoration and adherence to performance and safety standards.

Tasks and Duties:

Duties of a Heavy Equipment Mechanic are diverse and can include the following specific tasks:

  1. Inspecting heavy equipment for proper performance and detecting faults and malfunctions.

  2. Dismantling faulty equipment parts and installing new or fixed parts.

  3. Cleaning and lubricating equipment and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery.

  4. Keeping detailed records of serviced machines and reporting progress and issues to management.

  5. Advising clients or management on recommended equipment servicing and maintenance schedules.
