About the Role:

We are seeking a Journalist & Content Creator to craft high-quality, engaging content that showcases the latest in engineering and technology while supporting communications across our sister entities. This role will see you researching, writing, and editing articles, preparing media materials, and collaborating with academics, students, and industry professionals to share inspiring and impactful stories.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, and edit engaging articles on engineering and technology topics, including news, trends, and educational developments.
  • Pitch, interview, and produce student features to highlight personal experiences and career success stories.
  • Develop content for events, student activities, initiatives, and video adaptations.
  • Prepare press releases and media announcements to support organisational communications.
  • Collaborate with academics and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Create and adapt content for use across blogs, newsletters, social media, and video scripts.
  • Upload and format articles for the website, applying strong visuals and SEO best practices.
  • Support SEO and digital marketing efforts through keyword optimisation and linking strategies.
  • Manage editorial calendars to ensure consistent and timely content delivery.
  • Proofread and revise content to maintain editorial standards and brand voice.

About You:

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in journalism or technical writing.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and technology topics.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices.
  • Experience with content management systems (preferred).
